Outstanding!
Comments from the Co-AuthorDad continues to write nearly full time. He is 81 years old, in excellent health and with a sharper intellect and personality than he has ever had. His insights into leaders of the Church and his institutional memory of the Church is prodigous. Since completing this manuscript, Dad has finished Biography of the syndicated columnist, Jack Anderson, to be published in 2002. He has also recently finished an historical novel and is now working on a manuscript he has tentatively entitled, "The Spiritual Dimensions of America."
I continue to write in my spare time, and am currently finishing a work of fiction, which I hope to see published in early 2003.

It's so good, I give it away!
Great Book on a Great Town

Compelling history
beautifully written, great story, and provocative

Children make a differenceThis year, however, John-B's teacher tells her fifth grade students that the land has been sold to a development company, which is going to cut down those beautiful oak trees, & build a condominium.
The children decide they have to do something to save these amazing birds' home, they write letters & invite everyone to come watch the eaglets in their nest.
With attractive illustrations by David Aiken, Carolyn Stearns has written a charming, informative story of how people can make a difference in the world in which they live.
Inspiration for children

Very strong factual depictions
Saving Sea Otters

A jewel that's not out of date yet
Contains tons of useful information

Listen & Learn & Love It!Nola (Muriel Anderson) and the Star Island Jig (Harvey Reid) are my favorites, and the only two I've spent time learning so far. Harvey uses a partial capo on this - available from Shub, or from Third Hand Capo. Buster Jones is amazing, but I can't even imagine playing like that. Chris Proctor, John Miller, oh, and Tim Sparks "Dance of the Sugar Plumb Faries". Lots of great stuff in this!
The only reason I say 4 instead of 5 stars is these folks are top of the line, so some of it is beyond my ability.
Winfield Winners Flatpicking is awesome
Possibly the best was how the Griffin's became the only club in the world that restricts its membership to men only but is open to women. This in turn leads to the introduction of a great new character "Molly the Mule".
Highly Recommended.
